DUNKELPOET is a side project of weird fiction author Tobias Bachmann (Keyboards by Dr.Woo's Rock'n'Roll Circus): experimental, electronical music, *atmosfear*, drones, e-punk, berlin school, explicite samples ... somewhere in between is DUNKELPOET.

the poetry
The poetry behind the project does not stand alone, but is rather part of the music. In Dunkelpoet, literary stories are set to music, dark moments are captured in sound and mystical cascades of words are transformed into cascades of sound.
the music
Dunkelpoet's music is loosely based on the early models of the Berlin School, but consciously tries to create its own sounds against this background. So the music often seems raw. Critics therefore also refer to Dunkelpoet as "the punk of electronic music".
the recordings
Dunkelpoet does not use large studios and expensive production technology. In true punk fashion, the music is produced in the cellar and recorded with their own means. Almost every technology is analogue. Alienation takes place by means of samples and field recordings.
the performances
Performances by Dunkelpoet are rare, but always something special. While the previous performances mostly took place via video, Dunkelpoet faced a live audience for the first time in February 2026, as part of the presentation of the book "Konzerte" by Tobias Bachmann, whose 10 stories have been soundtracked by Dunkelpoet and illustrated by Falpico.
